by one indie dev, for indie devs

Put your project in front of people who block ads.

I run make-a-wrapped, a free tool that turns music stats into shareable posters. Thousands of posters get generated there, and I hand-pick the five ads that appear next to them. No ad network, no cookies, no crypto garbage.

slots per tier, never more

An ad network burned me. This is the replacement.

make-a-wrapped used to run ads from a third-party network. It was fine for a while. Then one December, people started telling me the site was redirecting them to scam pages. I couldn't reproduce it at first, so I asked around. They showed me. I pulled the ads the same week, and one of them sent the pull request that removed them for good.

This platform is what I built instead. The slots are mine, the review is mine, and nothing sits between me and whoever is paying. If an ad is bad, it doesn't run. That's not a policy document, that's the whole thing.

Who actually sees your ad

The people who make a wrapped poster are the same people who run their own music servers, scrobble everything they listen to, and self-host the tools they like. They read release notes for fun. They also hate ad networks, which is why they might actually look at yours.

Honest warning: if you sell to everyone, this isn't your audience. Save the three dollars.

Navidrome and homelab people

They run the music server themselves. They know what they want and they buy it.

Last.fm and ListenBrainz scrobblers

Music nerds with years of data and strong opinions about it.

Indie devs and tinkerers

The people who make the tools you might be selling to.

Buyers of niche software

Small tickets, loyal customers, happy to pay for something that works.

Submit your ad

Create an account, pick a tier, upload your creative and link. You get a live preview of exactly how it renders before anything is sent.

I review it

A human (me) looks at every submission. Payment only starts after approval, so a rejection never costs you anything.

It runs

Your ad rotates fairly with the others in its tier. Cancel any month; it stays until the end of the one you paid for.

Two tiers. Five slots each. That's it.

When the slots are gone, they're gone. Billing only starts after your creative passes review, so you never pay for something that gets rejected.

Why so cheap? One site, one person, five slots. $3 is a pizza, and the cap keeps this from ever becoming an ad wall. If the site grows, the price might too. The cap won't.

Fair questions

What won't get approved?

Scam-looking stuff, flashing or strobing banners, crypto and get-rich-quick ads, anything that lies about what it is. You see a live preview before paying, so rejection isn't a gamble you funded.

Can I cancel whenever?

Yes. Your ad keeps running until the end of the month you paid for, then the slot opens up for the next project.

Is it really zero tracking?

The widget is a few kilobytes of JavaScript. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no stored IPs. The only numbers are daily counters per ad. The privacy page shows the whole thing, and the code is public.

Is a small site worth it?

Depends what you sell. If your users are music nerds and self-hosters, this is exactly them. If you sell to everyone, probably not, and that's fine.

“This ad respects your privacy,” provably.

Every ad carries that link. It goes to a plain-language page that says what's counted (one anonymous counter per ad per day) and what never is (you).

No cookies, no localStorage, no fingerprinting. Ever.

No IP addresses or user agents are stored for ads.

Stats are a single counter per ad per day.

Rotation is round-robin, not behavioral.

No third-party ad network or tracker is involved.
